Observing Advent – Day 10 – Holy

Observing Advent – Day 10 – Holy

This is my favorite Nativity that we own. I purchased it in Phnom Penh, Cambodia just over two years ago. It was made and sold in a shop whose profits go to help women be set free from forced slavery in SE Asia.

When I think of Holy, I think of the one who came to set the world free for this life and the life to come. This one came first as a tiny baby and grew to the man who changed the world more than any other. This Nativity reminds me of both the eternal freedom we have but also of the calling we have in this life to be the ones to help set the captives free and lift up the oppressed. That is holiness to me.
