Be pleased, O God, to deliver me. O Lord, make haste to help me!
Let those be put to shame and confusion who seek my life. Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor who desire to hurt me.
Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!” turn back because of their shame.
Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!”
But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay!
This Psalm has three “Let those”s – two that are positive and great blessings and three that are “curses.’ Got me thinking about what we focus on in our lives. We can focus on the positives that we see around us or we can focus on the things that are wrong. There’s the saying that I’ve heard many times over that it takes 10 compliments to outweigh 1 negative. Here I wonder what we focus on – the three curses or the two amazing blessings? Make a conscious choice today to focus on the blessings all around us, even if the negatives continue to be in the background.
