Happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways.
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
Thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
The Lord bless you from Zion. May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
May you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!
The time is coming when the garden will start to bear fruit (or vegetables)…We have already had a nice harvest from our strawberry plants (chip-rats not withstanding) and the tomatoes are starting to grow and other plants are looking good. We had some of the leavy veggies as a part of our salad tonight…the fruit of our labor. There was a lot of work put into our garden…when we first moved into our house, the garden area was a weedy mess and its taken over 5 years for it to get to the place it is now. There are still weeds that we can’t quite seem to get rid of, but we have some beautiful garden boxes and the plants we want to grow are growing. But even with all the labor we put into it, ultimately we rely upon God for making it all grow. When we walk in the way of Lord as the first verse says, we are opening ourselves to the growth that God brings into our lives. We can try to do it all on our own or we can let God in to work in and on and through us…and the fruit will grow.
