The place we went today was a perfect example of the necessity to keep watch. We visited Cape Point today…first it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been – the rocky crags and the blue water and the warm sun made it absolutely stunning. At the same time, just looking at that place makes you realize that, while it is beautiful, there is great danger if you are not watchful. Yesterday when we were at Table Mountain, there was a map showing all the places where known shipwrecks have taken place, some right along where we were today. Watchfulness is the word that comes to me from the passage today. Watchfulness for when Christ will return. Watchfulness for what Christ calls us to day by day. Watchfulness for how we are called to be Christ for others.
