I loved the line in this chapter from Jesus about “He is God not of the dead, but of the living.” I read that this morning and it stayed with me throughout the day as we were driven from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park. As we drove into the park, you can see the park just teeming with an incredible diversity of life. Just driving into the park, we saw wildebeest, elephants, impalas, and duikers. While we waited to check in, we watched 10 elephants (including 4 baby ones) at the river. Then on our sunset game drive, we saw a giraffe, 3 female lions, 2 male lions, 4 rhinos, and an assortment of other critters. Life was all around us. It was outside the car and it was inside the car in the beautiful diversity of people watching the life around us. Truly, God is not only life, but as Jesus said, God is the God of the living.
