Gratitude 15 – Sunrise

In worship this morning we focused on Psalm 46, which has the following verses in 4-5…

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved;
God will help it when the morning dawns

As I was walking in to worship, I saw the tiniest glimpse of the sun starting to rise and I thought of those who wrote this Psalm initially and their feelings as the attacks upon their city were ongoing and waiting for the dawn to rise for redemption to come.

Feels a bit like the end of the Two Towers movie when Gandalf shows up after the long night of siege to rescue those who had held out against the attack.

I am grateful for the sun rising and the light coming.
